Local SPCA Gets Nearly $3,400 From Blast 825° Pizza Opening

Blast Buddies is a new initiative that’s giving back to pet-centric charities at the local level each time a new Blast 825° Pizza opens. Most recently, the new, quick-fired pizza concept named for the 825° blast that cooks its pizzas to perfection raised more than $1,600 from the brand’s Rocklin, Calif. grand opening celebration. Matching the amount, Blast 825° made a total donation of $3,366 to the Placer SPCA (Placer Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals).

Blast 825°, based in Fresno but expanding through franchising throughout the Golden State and into Nevada, Texas and beyond, launched Blast Buddies to support local pet charities in local markets when new restaurants open. During each grand opening event, representatives from a local pet-focused charity “crustomize” a signature pizza, creating a unique and delicious pizza that stays on the menu for a month. Blast 825 then sells the specialty pizza with proceeds benefitting the partner charity.

During the recent Rocklin restaurant opening, Placer SPCA created the “Pet Lover’s Pizza,” which featured garlic infused olive oil, Blast blend cheese, sun dried tomato, roasted onion, roasted garlic, black olives and pesto drizzle, which Blast 825° sold all day of the grand opening celebration for $4 and then for a month for the total donation of $3,400.
