Snap Serves Spotlight – Girard, PA

This Snap Serves Update comes from the Girard, PA club! Last month, the club hosted an Indoor Community Walk to raise money for community members who were dealing with the costs of cold-weather home repairs.

“I was inspired to create the event because I had heard (a local church group) had fallen short on its fundraising goals that it usually hits during the holiday season,” Club Manager Darren Angerer said. “I wanted to find a way to help the people who have been affected by the harsh weather in our area.”

Event attendees donated a dollar a minute to walk or run on the treadmills. More than 30 people logged some minutes on the cardio equipment and several more simply donated. The club raised over $500!

“The feedback has been overwhelmingly positive from both members and the community. Everyone seemed very excited to get involved and to donate to a good case,” Angerer said.
