Annual “Day of Giving”
Yum Franchisee gives back to their local communities by giving more than 60,000 meals every year to their neighbors. The annual ‘Day of Giving’ is the brainchild of Tabbassum Mumtaz, founder of Ampex Brands, which owns and operates more than 268 KFC, Taco Bell, Long John Silver and A&W locations throughout the country and employs over 6,000 team members. Mumtaz sees the event as a way to give back to the community, growing up he was not guaranteed a second meal; his team understands and believes how important it is to give back.
“We are so honored to be a part of our communities and we want to take an opportunity during the year to give something back to our neighbors,” Mumtaz said. “We recognize times are difficult and we hope ‘A Day of Giving’ is an example that inspires other local businesses to lend a hand as well.” You will always find Team Ampex saying loudly “When God increases your INCOME, don’t raise your standard of LIVING, raise your standard of GIVING.”
“A Day of Giving” is sponsored by the Apex Family Foundation.
