Over the last five years, Carvel and its guests have been able to raise over $150,000 for the American Red Cross on Free Cone Day. That money goes directly to supporting the American Red Cross as it raises awareness for disaster relief and helps families recover from the devastating effects of natural disasters.

Following Hurricane Sandy in 2012, Carvel partnered with American Red Cross back in 2012, following Hurricane Sandy. A regional brand based primarily in the Northeast, this destructive superstorm affected many Carvel franchisees and their communities. The tragedy hit close to home for Carvel and they wanted to do something to support those who suffered as a result of the catastrophic natural disaster so it made perfect sense for the brand to team up with American Red Cross to help aid in the relief process.
Since then, Carvel has continued their partnership with the American Red Cross and every spring, they host Free Cone Day where guests are treated to a free junior cone all day long. In conjunction with this event, Carvel offers guests the chance to purchase a $1 coupon book with more than $20 in savings included. All of the proceeds from the coupon book sales go to support American Red Cross disaster relief efforts.
The goal of this partnership is to give back to the organization that helped so many Carvel franchisees and their communities get back on their feet following Superstorm Sandy.
