The Houston Marriott Westchase is committed to feeding hungry families in the local Houston Area. Through our participation with the Kids Meals on Wheels program we have donated volunteer hours and resources to help pack lunches to feed hungry children from impoverished areas of Houston who may not otherwise have a meal to eat during the summer months away from school. Additionally, for over a decade we have participated in holding an Annual Food Drive in partnership with West Houston Assistance Ministries. Through the collective efforts of our team members we recently collected 1,854 food items this past year and helped to contribute to raising over 11,000 lbs. of food for West Houston Assistance Ministries (WHAM) Food Pantry. The food we gathered helped feed hungry families throughout the Westchase area. Ensuring that our First Responders are taken care of and fed is also a priority to us. For this reason, throughout the year we deliver meals to all four shifts to help feed our local Fire Department and we also offer our local law enforcement a daily free meal in our Restaurant.The enthusiasm and passion our team members have for these great causes is something very special and we are thankful for their kindness and generosity.

Families have always come first at Marriott, and we are therefore proud to support Children's Miracle Network Hospitals, an organization that has raised over $2 billion for children's hospitals throughout North America. Children's Miracle Network Hospitals is a non-profit organization dedicated to helping kids by raising funds and awareness for 170 children's hospitals. These hospitals help 17 million children each year battle diseases and injuries of every kind. With Children's Miracle Network Hospitals, 100% of every dollar raised goes to the local participating hospital to help kids in that community. Children's Miracle Network Hospitals are among the best in the world and are able to provide specialized care to all children regardless of a family's ability to pay. In 1983, Marriott helped lend credibility to Children's Miracle Network Hospitals when it became the organization's first corporate sponsor. Ten years later, we started giving our associates an opportunity to get involved and help raise money for the children in their communities. We support our hotels and other business units and their associates in North America to help raise funds for Children's Miracle Network Hospitals. This initiative calls upon and enables all associates to work with their local Children's Miracle Network Hospitals on grass roots fundraising efforts. In collaboration with guests, business partners and associates, Marriott has raised over $100 million to help children needing hospitalization in our local communities.
