The TWO MEN AND A TRUCK Central Connecticut franchise gives back to their community in a variety of ways. Last year the franchise provided moving services either free of charge or at a discounted rate to six nonprofit organizations in the greater Hartford area. Another initiative they began upon opening their franchise doors spring 2014 is a book donation drive to benefit the nonprofit, First Book. Each time a customer returns a post-move satisfaction survey to the office, they donate a new book to a local child in need through their partnership with First Book. Their efforts in 2014 provided 171 books to the program, and they estimate they'll donate more than 400 books in 2015! The TWO MEN AND A TRUCK staff also participate in local volunteer efforts, including a day of service at the Hartford's Camp Courant, the nation's largest free summer day camp. As part of their Movers for Meals and Movers for Moms donation drives, they also collect food and other essential items to benefit the Rocky Hill Food Pantry. Movers for Moms is the national TWO MEN AND A TRUCK program held each spring, in which they collect essential care items and deliver them to mothers living in domestic abuse or homeless shelters on Mother's Day. Another signature program developed by the brand is Movers for Meals, which is held each fall and collects nonperishable food items for local food pantries and shelters. We're proud of the Central Connecticut franchise team who lives the brand's core value of giving back to the community each and every day!

TWO MEN AND A TRUCK has strived to make a difference in other's lives from the time it began moving people forward in the early 80s. Today, 30 years later, those efforts have only been amplified nearly 30 times over. An effort that began in 2000 was the donation of 10 cents from every move to the American Cancer Society. That simple effort has amplified into much, much more. In just 15 years, TWO MEN AND A TRUCK has collected and donated more than $470,000. These annual checks, that are presented to the American Cancer Society representatives in Lansing, Mich., go toward various programs throughout the country to help with cancer research and patient support. Saving lives and helping the community is a trend at TWO MEN AND A TRUCK. In addition to supporting the American Cancer Society, the company implemented its own program. But this time, to help mothers in need. This annual program is called Movers for Moms and it has been around eight years. The Movers for Moms program runs each spring and every TWO MEN AND A TRUCK franchise organizes and runs the program in some capacity. The franchises partner with local schools, businesses, and organizations to collect essential care items for which mothers living in domestic abuse or homeless shelters are truly in need. These items are picked up by TWO MEN AND A TRUCK move teams and delivered to the franchise recipient shelters the weekend of Mother's Day. In addition to giving these moms in need essential care items to lift their spirits, they are also gifted with knowing someone cares and is thinking about them during their own special holiday -Mother's Day.
