A the 2023 IFA Annual Convention, the IFA Foundation in collaboration with Roark Capital Group and the Romaniello Family Foundation, will host the 2023 Franchising Gives Back Volunteer Event throughout the entirety of the Convention.
Sunday:
Off-Site Community Service Project
In 2019, we visited Richard Rundle Elementary School in Las Vegas, and are looking forward to returning this year. Rundle Elementary is the first school in Clark County, NV to be recognized as a Purple Star School. That is a government-sponsored designation that recognizes schools which have committed to helping students in military families transition to new schools and instills a sense of civic pride.
This year, we’ll be helping paint the family resource center, tending to their garden, planting foliage and assembling teacher appreciation kits.
We do ask that you register in advance to help with logistical planning. This is an add-on to your Convention registration, so be sure to modify your registration to include Rundle! Contact Ashley Mancheni at amancheni@franchise.org with any questions you may have.
Monday:
On-Site in the Exhibit Hall
On-site at Convention, we’ll have a dedicated space in the exhibit hall where you can stop by and help us put together care kits 
that will be distributed to national nonprofits. We hope to put together 20,000 kits which will be distributed nationwide to organizations serving underrepresented communities and Veterans. Throughout the Convention, we’ll also be joined by CEOs from nonprofits who can speak to their mission and discuss ways in which you can get involved with their efforts.
Get Involved: As part of this project, we’re asking our franchise family to contribute gift certificates or coupons to be packed into the care kits. During the 2022 Franchise Action Network Summit many of you contributed coupons and gift certificates to the effort, including: SportClips Haircuts, Moran Family of Brands, The UPS Store, Mosquito Joe’s, Rita’s Custard, Elmer’s, CKE Restaurants, Papa John’s, PuroClean, Larkin Hoffman, f.c. dadson, Darter Specialties, Schlotzky’s, Wild Birds Unlimited, and Little Land. Tuesday:
Franchise Fitness Time with Team Red, White and Blue
Team Red, White and Blue helped lead our franchise fitness time at the 2022 Convention in San Diego, and we’re proud to have them join us again this year in Las Vegas. This year, we’ll be running a sunrise 5K on the Vegas strip. Local military veterans will be participating as well to help give them the chance to connect with people and feel a sense of community and purpose.
About Team Red, White and Blue: Every year, veterans face many challenges including isolation, weight gain, lack of purpose, and other health issues. Team RWB is the antidote to the isolation and health challenges they face. By forging America’s leading health and wellness community for veterans, service members, and their families, we strive to make tomorrow better. Together, we will find strength and success.
Meal Packing with Meals of Hope
Join IFA Member Meals of Hope in their effort to end hunger. Together, we’ll be packing 50,000 meals for the people who need them most. Come join us and make a difference! You can sign up in advance if you’d like to get a large group together, or just show up and help during exhibit hall hours on Tuesday.
