Sports Clips Helps Red Cross and Announces Scholarships for Veterans
Sport Clips Haircuts helped the American Red Cross collect 418,586 units of blood this fall as part of ARC’s “Saving Lives Never Looked So Good!” campaign to generate awareness of the need for blood and platelet donations. By providing free haircut coupons to donors, the company’s effort could help save an estimated 1.2 million lives.
In other community outreach news, Sport Clips Haircuts’ mission to provide active-duty military and veterans support for their post-military career goals was accomplished when the franchise announced 43 scholarships for the spring semester. Sport Clips U.S. locations raised $500,000 through its annual “Help A Hero” campaign, benefiting the Veterans of Foreign Wars-administered “Sport Clips Help a Hero Scholarship” program. Through this contribution, Sport Clips and the VFW expect to provide more than 60 additional scholarships for the fall 2014 semester.
